Nestled in northern Monroe county, Greece, New York is also one of its largest suburbs.
Hugging the southern shore of Lake Ontario, Greece was originally settled by the Algonquian and Iroquois Native Americans in the early 1300's, the first European settlers arrived in the area in the 1790's. Formed from the northern parts of Gates, the Town of Greece was incorporated in 1822.
