Hello Again, it’ me Joseph and I’m hoping you’re soaking in every morsel of all that is summer. August is just around the corner (#Summer17Take2) and there are plenty of adventures to be had. Not sure where to start? No worries. Here’s a list of the top 6 ideas (They’re so good, you won’t need 4 more) that are on the Must Do List Before Summer Ends.
TAKE A ROAD TRIP
I am well versed in all things road trip so mine tend to be quite spontaneous and a little further than most. You can start small, there are plenty of great day trips to make in Upstate NY. It’s best to travel with a friend (the need for bail money is always a possibility; after all the best adventures include a partner in crime.) Just make sure you travel with someone who has an open mind and is ready and willing to meet a funky cow.
WEAR A FUNKY HAT
There is no better time to experiment with fashion than summer. The colors are bright and beautiful. You’ve got a good head on your shoulders, why not celebrate with a hat. This number is a conversation starter for sure. And, honestly, that’s my point. If you know me at all, you know that I like to get conversations started. (Unless you’re mean.) It’s all part of being #intentionallyawesome and being willing to learn about people and places and cultures. (Fashion note: notice how the shirt compliments the hat but doesn’t steal attention from it.)
ATTEND A PRIDE FESTIVAL
Pride festivals are the perfect place to wear your fancy hat. I can guarantee it will be well received. If you missed the Rochester Pride Festival, (enjoy the pics below) you can still catch a few in other cities. Ooo La La, Montreal Pride festival runs from August 10th to the 20th. (Road trip + Pride Festival= Grand Adventure)
TRY A WILD FOOD COMBINATION
Long ago and far away our mothers always told us not to play with our food but for kitty cat's sake, I’m glad someone did. I’m here to tell you that Italian food and sushi is a spectacular combination. We had some great plates at a place called Tomatoes in Margate, New Jersey.
RIDE A BIKE
No excuses people. Bike share has come to Rochester! Take your show on the road! I’m hoping we’ll see adult tricycles in the mix sometime soon. Until than I have UBER and Penelope! And, let’s not forget Pedal Tours! (Pedal Tour in the PRIDE festival = Grand Adventure)
WATCH THE SUNSET
There are so many possibilities in Rochester to catch a beautiful glimpse! Some of my favorites include places with a water view and adult beverages. Here’s a quick pic from Murphy’s Law on Empire.
MAKE YOUR MOVE
Here’s the truth about life. If you don’t like the view from where you are, you can change it. Summer is the perfect time to make your move. If a certain school district is one of your requirements, you still may have time as many districts will enroll your child as long as your have a signed purchase contract and mortgage commitment within the first 30 to 60 days of school. You’ve heard the inventory is low and it’s true but you do have options. You just need to know where to look and have have the right person looking out for you. At MovingRochester.com, we’ll do just that!
Enjoy all that is summer.
We can’t wait to hear about your grand adventures!
Joseph, Joey and Victoria
